Like Nike / Give Me 2 Pair is a self-portrait series using Nike Air Force One soles to explore identity, culture, and memory. Sculpted in sugar, plaster, and other materials, the works reflect my personal journey growing up on Fordham Road, where a fresh pair of Air Forces was a rite of passage. The title nods to both the Greek goddess Nike and Nelly’s iconic song, linking personal triumph with cultural history. Through these pieces, I transform a familiar symbol into a reflection on selfhood, community, and the ways culture shapes who we are.
