Still Me

Still Me is a body of self-portraits—“still me’s”—a play on traditional still lifes. The work explores identity, cultural appreciation, and new ways of seeing the self through portraiture.

These portraits incorporate patterns formed from Nike Air Force 1 soles, merging my image with a visual language rooted in sneaker culture. Sneakers are more than wearable objects to me—they are communication, expression, and history. They carry meaning, memory, and presence.

The soles we walk on connect to our souls. By integrating them into my self-portraits, I’m honoring myself and the culture that shaped me, while reimagining what a self-portrait can be. Still Me is about visibility, innovation, and holding space for personal and cultural truth.
